Riptides of Life September 7, 2018

It started out to be a happy day at the beach for two young people from Prince Edward Island. Kurtis Paula and Hannah Crossman were swimming at Cabot Beach when they got caught in a riptide and began to be pulled out to sea. Despite their best efforts, it became evident they were in serious trouble. Thankfully, what could have become a tragedy, ended well, with the intervention of lifeguards and fishermen. Sometimes the riptides of life can sweep us far from shore and we need help beyond ourselves. Spiritually speaking, we are all lost and need to be rescued from the riptide of sin, because the Bible plainly states that “All have sinned” and “There is none righteous, no not one.” Fortunately, Christ stands ready to intervene. He promised, “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Kurtis and Hannah got outside help. Are you in trouble? Help is available.
