Are you a late night eater? Journal Cell Metabolism put out a study that addresses the area of time sensitivity of when we eat. Apparently eating in the evening makes a difference in our hunger levels, the way we burn calories after we eat, and the way we store fat. This study helps explain why late eating is associated with increased obesity risk. That being the case it is important to realize that eating is time sensitive. Did you know that in the Bible salvation is time sensitive. In the book of 2 Corinthians chapter six it reads, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

It has long been established that obesity is a risk factor for cancer. According to the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, new research indicates that a larger waste circumference is a bigger risk factor than body mass index. Apparently though this application is made for men and not for women. Did you know the Bible points out something that is equally deadly for women and men and what it points out is sin. It is something that everyone deals with. Romans 3:23 reads, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Thankfully later on in the Bible while it reaffirms that tragic reality it also provides a cure that has been made available. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are getting close to the end of the flu season. Each year it comes to an end near the last of April or possibly early May. It is an ongoing battle during this season to stay healthy by practicing good hygiene by properly washing one’s hands and maintaining a healthy lifestyle by getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and getting exercise. Did you know the Bible identifies a battle all followers of Jesus Christ are in. In Galatians it reads, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

CTV news shared about a US study that indicated that neighbourhoods with more dogs see lower rates of homicide, robbery, and aggravated assaults. Apple put out a post addressing what not to do if your phone gets exposed to too much water. What the company said not to do is put your phone in rice to dry it out. Doing so is a misconception and can do more harm than good. Did you know there is a common misconception when it comes to getting right with God. It goes with the idea of being, quote, “a good person”. The bible actually teaches against this by declaring in the book of Romans that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It also say in that same book that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How much coffee do you drink a day? CTV news put out an article recently sharing concerns a person should have about possible coffee intoxication. The article noted that while everyone’s tolerance is different there is a limit to how much coffee a person can have in their system. A maximum for the average adult should be four or five cups a day. Did you know the Bible speaks about something that followers of Jesus Christ can never have too much of? Jesus words are shared in the book of Matthew in which He says, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Don’t you love to hear of wedding anniversaries of couples who have been married for various milestones? Someone who you likely don’t know but recently celebrated the milestone of breaking the world record of the longest marriage of a living couple were from Brazil and have been married for over 84 years. The husband is 105 and his wife is 101. They have lived long lives. Did you know the bible teaches of not simply living a long life but living eternally with God in heaven? John 3:16 reads, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

CNBC travel put out an article noting that it costs about $1850 a day to visit the ten most expensive destinations in the world. What makes these destinations so expensive primarily has to do with the cost of accommodations averaging $1000 a night. It is quite an expense to experience traveling to any of the top ten destinations. Did you know that the Bible shares about a destination that no financial price could ever be attached to? In the book of 1 Corinthians it reads, “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Did you know there is a great show to watch every year in April? In order to see it you just have to look up to the sky. The annual Lyrid meteor shower lasts between April 15-29. The Lyrid meteor shower offers 10 -15 meteors per hour at its peak on a moonless night. It is interesting because in the Bible we are told that there is a lesson to learn every time we look up and are amazed at what we see in the sky. In the book of Psalms chapter 19 it reads, The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.
