Last month the most expensive feather ever sold from an extinct New Zealand bird went for just over thirty-eight thousand dollars. Imagine spending thirty-eight thousand dollars on a feather! Did you know the Bible shares about something that is of great value and is truly worth it. Jesus shares a story of a man who found a treasure in a field and then went and sold all that he had to buy the field so he could have the treasure. The treasure pictured is the kingdom of heaven and is of infinite worth because it takes us to the king. Jesus also shared the way into the kingdom. His words from the book of John reads, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.”

These scientists present something to be taken in that is of real physical value. CTV news reported last month that Lisa Prosser from Ontario was shocked to find out that fines from 20 years ago suddenly tanked her credit score. These fines were provincial and municipal and are not statute-barred which means there is no limit on how long creditors have to pursue collections. In the article it was noted how this type of debt will never go away unless it is dealt with. Did you know the Bible addresses a debt that we all owe and thankfully states a way in which it can be paid. In the Book of Romans it reads, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Do you ever feel like anger pulses through your veins when you get upset? Well according to a new study published by CNN recently that is not too far off. Apparently being angry impacts your blood vessel health. Did you know the Bible provides direction on anger that was not shared recently but rather almost 2000 years ago. In the book of Ephesians it reads, “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Do you have anger in your life that is not being addressed that is overflowing and revealing its effects in a number of other areas of your life? It needs to be addressed before tonight!

CNN shared an article by Monica Parker entitled, Happiness is a trap. Here’s what to pursue instead, the writer outlines the limits of simply pursuing happiness and enforces the importance of pursuing wonder which she identifies to be of a much greater value. Did you know the Bible places a lot of emphasis on wonder in relation to God? In the book of Psalms, the writer is addressing the knowledge of God and writes, “O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.” The Psalmist in summarizing his thoughts on the knowledge of God writes, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.”

Fox news shared an article, 8 bad habits you need to break – unless you want to age faster. The habits consisted of smoking, excessive sun exposure, poor diet, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol consumption, chronic stress, inadequate sleep, and poor oral hygiene. Apparently by breaking these habits you could slow down the appearance of aging. These things would be good to address but something much more important than slowing down how quickly you age is getting to know the one who provides eternal life. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

We have become very familiar with biometrics. We have been unlocking iphones with our fingerprint since 2013 and sometimes we are exposed to facial recognition in order to board an airplane. Something new in the area of biometrics has to do with research at the University of New Brunswick’s Institute Biomedical Engineering has to do with our walk. The Globe and Mail put out an article focusing on the findings of this department entitled, “How your walk could shape the future of Biometrics.” Did you know the Bible has insight for followers of Jesus Christ in relation to ones walk. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reads, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

The US surgeon general said that loneliness in the U.S. poses health risks as deadly as smoking a dozen cigarettes daily. Research shows that Americans who have become less engaged with worship houses, community organizations and with their own family members have reported an increase in feelings of loneliness. In the Bible in the book of Hebrews, the writer directs those whom are followers of Jesus Christ to get together regularly. It reads, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Apparently the top three performing stocks to date over the past five years consist of Celsius Holdings, Super Micro Computer and Nvida. Compared to their worth from five years ago they have dramatically increased. Something that is of infinite worth that has not changed in price over the years has to do with being able to experience salvation. The reason the price has not changed is that it is a gift, you cannot buy it or earn it. You can only experience it through faith in Jesus Christ.
