Are you careful when you transfer money online? Recently a gentleman was shocked to find out that when intending to put money towards his son’s education he mistakenly transferred $5000 into the account of a stranger. Thankfully the bank eventually got things straightened out and returned the funds to the sender. Did you know the Bible teaches of an account transfer that is available through faith in Christ that we will want to get right? Second Corinthians 5:21 reads, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Through faith in Jesus resulting in a changed life a person receives, before God, the righteousness of Jesus upon their lives.

A saying that is often quoted this time of year depending on the weather in reference to March is, “In like a lion and out like a lamb”. It is a saying that has stood the test of time. One of the earliest citations is from a book containing a number of sayings written in 1732 but only the insight regarding March has held up over time. Did you know there is a saying in the Bible about a lamb that has not only held up over time but is just as relevant today as it was nearly 2000 years ago. It is spoken by John the Baptist in reference to Jesus Christ and what He would accomplish. It reads, “Behold, The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Do you want to slow down your aging process? According to a recent study by the National Institute of Health, drinking enough water may help the aging process. A representative from the study noted, “The results suggest that proper hydration may slow down aging and prolong a disease-free life. With what we know it is certainly wise to seek to be properly hydrated daily. Did you know the Bible has instructions on proper intake but it does not have to do with water? In the book of 1st Peter it reads, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” Access to this benefit does not involve turning on the tap but rather grabbing a Bible and reading it.

According to a recent article put out by CNN you can reduce your risk of early natural death, for any reason, by twenty percent just by eating more foods from your choice of four healthy eating patterns. I am sure many people read the article because they were concerned with living longer. Did you know the Bible addresses not simply living longer but living eternally with God. That should get everyone’s attention! Recently a lady from Virginia found a vase for three dollars and ninety-nine cents. It was a real treasure! She would end up selling the vase for over one hundred thousand dollars. Did you know in the Bible Jesus shares a story of a man who found a treasure in a field and then went and sold all that he had to buy the field so he could have the treasure. The treasure pictured is the kingdom of heaven and is of infinite worth, but we can actually possess it. Jesus also shared the way into the kingdom. His words from the book of John reads, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.”

JAMA pediatrics recently published a study regarding screen time for toddlers. The study’s lead author, Karen Heffler, told Fox news digital that, “This study finds an association between greater screen time in the first two years of life and ‘high’ sensory-related behaviors in areas” Did you know that the Bible has direction on what followers of Jesus Christ should pay attention to and there are no limits. It reads, 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Recently there was an arrest in Florida of enough fentanyl that authorities according to Fox news said could kill more than 1.7 million people. Fentanyl is an opioid drug that is 50 times stronger than heroin. It is deadly! Did you know the Bible tells us that we have all been injected with something that is deadly that has to be addressed? Romans 3:23 reads, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and later on it reads, “for the wages of sin is death.” Death meaning eventual separation from God. Thankfully this same verse later tells us that, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The World Economic Form said in a report recently that, “False and misleading information supercharged with cutting-edge artificial intelligence that threatens to erode democracy and polarize society is the top immediate risk to the global economy.” It appears that recognizing truth is going to be a challenge in the future. Thankfully almost 2000 years ago truth was identified in a person and you can find it in the Bible for now and into the future. We are into February, the shortest day of the year. The next thing you know it will be March. . Do you know something else that is short. The Bible describes life as short. It describes life as being like a vapor. Something that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. The Bible also tells us that through embracing Jesus Christ as our Saviour we can know we will be with Him for eternity. Romans 6:23 reads, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

CTV news reported recently regarding two thieves that stole a truck and an ATM machine full of cash in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. They did not simply steal money from the ATM but stole the ATM. The stolen truck and ATM emptied of cash were abandoned and found on a rural road west of Shaunavon. There is a request that anyone with information is to contact the Shuanavon RCMP. Did you know in the Bible Jesus tells people to be on the outlook for a particular thief? John 10:10 reads, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
