Frozen pizzas and ready-to-eat meals may make our busy lives easier but you have to use some caution. It is wise to watch what you eat! Did you know the Bible has something very essential to share regarding not what we eat but what we think. A way of thinking that is available for a person whom has experienced salvation through Jesus Christ? It reads, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

An article was published in The Lancet that shared that 44.4 percent of all cancer deaths and 42 percent of healthy years lost could be attributed to preventable risk factors. The three leading risks according to this global study includes smoking, drinking too much alcohol or having a high body mass index. Did you know the Bible shares about the greatest risk factor for death, meaning separation from God, and it falls under one category? It is sin. Romans 6:23 reads, “For the wages of sin is death,”. Thankfully the rest of that same verse shares about the way this can be addressed, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Recently a piece by the famous 20th century artist Bob Ross sold for more than 9.8 million U.S. dollars at an auction house in Minneapolis. I question if Bob Ross would of ever imagined one of his paintings could of been worth so much. There is an account in the Bible, in the book of Psalms, where king David is questioning the value of a creation of God and in doing so is in awe of God. It reads, “what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. In reflection of God as creator David summarizes, “LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

How much coffee will you drink today? Apparently, there is a connection to how many cups you drink and how anxious or depressed you feel. CTV news reported last month how a kilogram of fentanyl was found by police in a New York City daycare. Fentanyl is an opioid drug that is 50 times stronger than heroin. It is deadly! Did you know the Bible tells us that we have all been injected with something that is deadly that has to be addressed? In the book of Romans it reads, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”, and later on it reads, “for the wages of sin is death.” Death meaning eventual separation from God. Thankfully this same verse that tells us what the wages of sin causes also tells us that, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Last month an American man was rescued from a Turkish cave after falling ill and not able to get out himself. He was trapped over 3000 feet within the cave for over a week. The challenge was that there were places within the cave that were too tight to get a stretcher through. Thankfully rescuers were able to take it slow and navigate through the cave and the result was a successful rescue. Did you know there is a rescue shared about in the Bible that is absolutely amazing and is successful for all who take part? John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Last month Coco Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set intense match in the U.S. Open. Her reaction to having experienced this amazing victory was to drop to her knees and thank God. When the 19 year-old tennis phenom was asked about her expression of thanks she said, “I don’t pray for results. I just ask that I get the strength to give it my all. Whatever happens, happens. I’m so blessed in this life. Recently a lost hiker was able to be found in Alaska’s Katmai’s National Park by the hiker locating a live feed set up to study bears. He went to the live feed and said, “help, I don’t know which way to go.” Thankfully someone was listening. A rescue mission was sent out and the lost hiker was located approximately two hours after sharing on the live feed. In the Bible, in the book of Psalms there is a cry out for help and this cry is given to God which reads, “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

CTV news shared recently regarding a recreated photo of a soon to be retired pilot Ruben Flowers and his son. What made this photo newsworthy was the fact that it was a recreation of Ruben and his son in the cockpit 30 years later. One photo from 30 years ago and a recent photo in the cockpit of father and son except now the son whom shares the same name is also a pilot himself. It was a depiction of a son whom imitated his father. Did you know that in the Bible there is encouragement for followers of Jesus Christ to seek to imitate God. In Ephesians chapter 5 verse one it reads, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.”

With the 2024 model cars and trucks soon to be available there will be all kinds of bells and whistles accessible to the new owners. I wonder how many people will purchase certain perks and drive their cars or trucks and not even take advantage of what has been made available to them. Something else I would be interested to know has to do with a statement made by Jesus Christ in John 10:10 which reads: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” How many people have entered into a personal relationship with God through Christ and have not taken full advantage of all that Jesus has made available by properly investing into growing in that relationship?
