A study was published recently that suggested that 14.5 percent of the global population has Lyme disease or has been infected by Lyme disease. The study suggested the rate of infection is on the increase. Did you know there is a spiritual infection that has a one hundred percent infection rate? In the Bible in the book of Romans it reads, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned”. Thankfully, the Bible tells of a cure made possible through Jesus Christ. It reads in the book of Ephesians, For by grace you have been save through faith, it is a gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.

In an article published by CNN entitled, “Sleep starts: Why your body “hiccups” as you fall asleep”, it is noted that nearly 70 percent of the population experience a twitching, jerking that can hinder a person from falling asleep. A scientist from the article noted, “It is not a good thing but health wise it presents nothing to worry about”. Did you know there is a wake up call in the Bible to Christians whom are not living as they should? This disturbance in sleep is truly beneficial! Romans 13:11 reads, “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”

Last month CTV shared about a scientific review that looked at more than ninety-five other scientific reviews encompassing 128,000 participants and found physical activity to be 1.5 times more effective in some cases than counseling or medication in tackling depression. Something the Bible directs a person to exercise when dealing with anxiety among other things reads,, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Recently 1.2 million dollars was paid for a football jersey at an auction. It was originally Joe Montana’s jersey which he wore during two of his four Superbowl victories. To the person whom paid over a million dollars this jersey was a real treasure. Did you know in the Bible Jesus shares a story of a man who found a treasure in a field and then went and sold all that he had to buy the field so he could have the treasure. The kingdom of heaven is of infinite worth beyond what we can fully comprehend but we can possess it. Jesus also shared the way into the kingdom. He said in John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.

Last month Canadian twins were named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most premature twins, born at 22 weeks or 126 days early. This definitely makes for a unique birth. Did you know the Bible teaches of a spiritual birth that we all have to have in order to experience heaven? Jesus said in John 3:3 that, “most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” We are also told of a gift we receive in relation to this new birth. This new birth which is made possible by trusting in Jesus Christ as ones Savior. Last month Japan used advanced surveying technology and discovered it has 7000 more islands than it originally had documented. The last survey was conducted in 1987 by Japan’s Coast Guard. It is quite a thing to phantom a country coming to realize it has 7000 more islands than it originally thought. The results of the survey definitely exceeded their expectations. Did you know in the Bible it addresses people whom have experienced salvation made possible through Jesus Christ having their expectations exceeded? Ephesians 3:20 reads, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Did you know there is a great show to watch every year in April? In order to see it you just have to look up to the sky. The annual Lyrid meteor shower brings an end to the meteor drought that occurs each year between January and mid- April. The Lyrid meteor shower offers 10 -15 meteors per hour at its peak on a moonless night. The best time to watch this April is during the late evenings of the 22nd and 23rd. It is interesting because in the Bible we are told that there is a lesson to learn every time we look up and are amazed at what we see in the sky. The key is we do not miss out on what the lesson is. In the book of Psalms chapter 19 it reads, The heavens declare the glory of God…

Recently a letter was found by a couple in England as they were cleaning out their attic. The letter was from Charles to his “granny”. Among other things it read, ““Dear Granny, I am sorry that you are ill. I hope you will be better soon,”. It was addressed to the Queen mother. I imagine the Queen mother was greatly encouraged when she read it. Did you know there is a letter written in the Bible that has provided encouragement to many for 2000 years. It reads, in 1st John “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life”.

This 2.2 million dollar coup can go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 1.79 seconds. That is unbelievably fast! Have you ever noticed how an argument can accelerate unbelievably fast? It can go from 0-100 very, very quickly. An argument is not something we typically want to see accelerate but we would rather it not take off at all. In the Bible there is some very practical wisdom that can be applied that can help you to keep an argument form taking off. In Proverbs 15:1 it reads, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
