April 12 50-million-dollar Hebrew Bible

Next month an auction is scheduled in which a Hebrew Bible that is over 1000 years old is expected to be sold in New York for somewhere between thirty to fifty million dollars. It is believed to be the oldest and most complete Hebrew Bible. It is valued at a lot of money but the reality is, the worth of the Word of God, is of infinite value. In the book of Hebrews it reads, “ For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

April 10 Evidence of the Resurrection

When a famous person says something, we are more inclined to listen. Here is a quote from the late international statesman Sir Lionel Luckhoo who became famous from being in the Guinness book of world records for his unprecedented, 245 consecutive defense murder trial acquittals. He said this in relation to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. “I have spent more than 42 years as a defense trial lawyer appearing in many parts of the world and am still in active practice. I have been fortunate to secure a number of successes in jury trials and I say unequivocally the evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance of proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt”

April 7 Expensive Destination

Fox news published an article recently entitled, “Orlando named world’s most expensive destination for family vacation.” A report was published that showed that the theme parks and tourist sites will cost a family of four on a seven night vacation during peak season an average of $7,350. It is quite an expense to experience that destination. Did you know that the Bible shares about a destination that no financial price could ever be attached to it? In the book of 1 Corinthians it reads, “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

April 5 In The Garden April

We are entering the time of year when people are thinking a lot about gardening. Considering what they need to do to get ready for the season to come. Did you know that a focal point of the Easter account takes place in a garden? It was in the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was considering what was to come in relation to the unfathomable hardship He was about to face. Do you know what would have been on the forefront of His mind? It was the fact that He would become sin for us in order to provide a way that we could get right with God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 reads, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

April 3 Canada Goose Jackets

It was reported by CTV recently that several people in Washington D.C. have been robbed of their pricy Canada goose coats. The Metropolitan Police Department says the incident began on January 24 when a man told police he was assaulted by three men who stole his coat as he was walking to school. A number of people have had their jackets stolen by thieves since then. Did you know in the Bible Jesus tells people to be on the outlook for a particular thief? John 10:10 reads, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Sixty-four vehicles were stolen off driveways across the Greater Toronto Area. The vehicles were held inside shipping containers and were ready to be sold illegally. The car thieves were able to enter the vehicles and reprogram the ignition computers and drive away with a new key. Did you know in the Bible Jesus tells people to be on the outlook for a particular thief? John 10:10 reads, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

March 29 Reunion

Last month a beagle named Rosco, who was missing from his home in Kansas for eight long years, was located more than 1000 miles from his home. The family had diligently searched for him for a time but eventually gave up. Someone noticed a dog wandering the streets and checked his microchip and made contact with the owner and Rosco was eventually reunited with his family. The family was ecstatic! Did you know the Bible speaks of the importance of diligently seeking and the benefits of doing so. In the book of Hebrews it reads, “ But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

March 27 Air Tag

Recently an article in the Washington Post shared about the benefit of something that is becoming more and more prevalent. The use of Apple’s AirTags or a Bluetooth tracking device such as a Tile when searching for luggage. Technology that allows you to track where your luggage is when it becomes lost. In the Bible in the book of Psalms it shares about a search but the means to access what is unknown is not through technology but through prayer. It reads, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Police said two people were skating and fell though and a third person spotted them from shore and tried to help but fell in as well. Thankfully first responders quickly arrived on the scene and successfully saved all three individuals. Did you know there is a rescue shared about in the Bible that is successful for all who take part? March 22 Poor Oral Health Connected with Risk of Stroke

CTV put out an article recently, “poor oral health could affect the brain later in life.” In the article it notes that previous studies have shown that gum disease, missing teeth, poor brushing and plaque removal can increase the risk of a stroke. Did you know the bible outlines something we are all at risk of and there are no exceptions? In Romans 3:23 it reads, “for all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 reads, “For the wages of sin is death” but thankfully the rest of the verse brings the solution that has been made available to all of humanity, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
