At midnight, we will be in 2013. It will bring with us many different philosophies, attitudes, concerns, fears, expectations and even dread. Our outlook on the New Year is conditioned by our recent experiences. For some, 2012 has been kind and leaves good memories. For others, 2012 has brought unpleasant events which have brought fear for the future. But we all have one thing in common – we do not know what the future holds. Only God does. Songwriter Ira Stanphill wrote the following thoughtful words. “I don’t know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day. I don’t borrow from it sunshine, for its skies may turn to gray. I don’t worry o’er the future, for I know what Jesus said, and today, I’ll walk beside Him, for He knows what is ahead. Many things about tomorrow, I don’t seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know He holds my hand.” Great advice for the New Year before us.
