Jan 01 – Insurance for the Future

It’s a brand new year! What lies ahead for us all? Recently I came across a 2009 warranty for which I had paid $89 when I bought an electronic device. It reminded me that because we don’t know the future, some prudently purchase insurance on life, auto, accident and health, as well as warranties on items we buy. Ira Stanphill wrote a song revealing how to have insurance for the next life, when Christ is in our lives, with the words, “I don’t know about tomorrow; I just live from day to day. I don’t borrow from its sunshine for its skies may turn to grey. Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.” Amos of old, warned, “Prepare to meet your God.” And wise Solomon advised, “Don’t boast about tomorrow, for you know not what a day may bring forth.”
