Last month the world paid homage to Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrated her 90th birthday. Her long life has been remarkable. But there is a greater monarch. He is the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” While Elizabeth II was born, raised in an environment of luxury surrounded by the rich, famous, and powerful, our Lord Jesus was born in a stable, and lived a life of humility, had no home of his own and surrounded Himself with the poor, needy and unknown. He died on a wooden cross, and by His death, made eternal life possible as a gift to all who sincerely seek it. The Bible states that one day He will return, at which time, “every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess Him as Lord.” Our relationship to Him on earth will determine whether we will meet Him as our loving Saviour, or Judge. Which will it be?
