An old Chinese proverb says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” And the most important first step in our journey toward God is to humbly acknowledge our fallen nature. That’s because the Bible states clearly, “There is none righteous, no not one.” Then, after admitting our spiritual need, we are ready to take the next step- accepting the fact that there is only One who has the power to forgive, and give us the gift of eternal life, here and now. That’s Jesus. He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The third step is to invite Jesus into our lives. Paul wrote, “whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Please take these first three steps today and you’ll be on your way to a wonderful life and some day–heaven.
