Ruth, a former office manager for a company in Boca Grande, Florida was charged with grand theft and scheming to defraud the company where she had handled billing and payrolls for over ten years. Investigators discovered that she had embezzled over one hundred and eighty thousand dollars from the business. Her ingratitude in stealing from the company which provided her livelihood reminds one of how so many of us abuse the goodness of the Lord, as we take all his benefits, then ignore Him and leave Him out of our lives. The Lord provides life, health, even the air we breathe. The Good Book warns, “be sure your sin will find you out.” It urges, “Do not be deceived, for whatever a man sows, that He will also reap.” God is so good to us all. Let’s respond with gratitude and put Him first in our lives.
