Rejection May 4, 2020

A Nova Scotia man thought he was in a good marriage, so he was shocked when his wife of twenty-five years informed him that she was leaving him and no longer wanted to be in his life. He was devastated. A well-educated and talented PEI schoolteacher was unceremoniously released from her teaching position. In spite of all efforts, no credible reason was ever given for her dismissal. It has had a traumatic impact on the young woman. Few actions are more crushing than rejection. How do we cope when it slams into our lives? When responding, it is important to admit to ourselves that we are hurt. Healing can’t really begin until we admit a problem exists. To anyone who is hurting today, Peter, the Apostle advises us to be “…casting all your care upon Him (Jesus) for He cares for you.” He is there for the broken hearted.
