Magnificent violinist Joshua Bell played to a sold-out audience in Boston, where seat costs averaged $100 each. Two days later, he played incognito on a $3.5 million dollar Stradivarius violin for 45 minutes to thousands at a Metro station in Washington, D.C. There was no recognition and almost no tips. Why? Nobody recognized Bell as one of the best musicians in the world. John, in his gospel, wrote about our Savior: “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” “But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name.” Are we missing out on a relationship with the greatest person who ever lived?
