In an article put out this past year by Conscious Rethink entitled, How to Deal with Bragging Friends/Relatives, it is noted that it becomes unhealthy when we use our accomplishments to elevate at the expense of other people or their fortune. Did you know the Bible gives direction on bragging? In the book of Jeremiah there is clear direction on what is beneficial for a person to actually boast about. This direction comes ultimately from God Himself in which it reads, “Thus says the LORD “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.”
