Thankfully one of the twelve passengers thought to be missing on the Italian Cruise liner Corfu was found alive, 53 hours after the ferry had burst into flames. Rescuers who boarded the ship found the 21 year old having avoided being overtaken by the intense heat at the stern of the ship. Temperatures on the ferry had exceeded 600 degrees Celsius. According to local media reports the truckers first words when rescued were, “tell me I am alive.” He desperately wanted assurance that he was alive.
