Did you know Jesus shared an essential quality that is necessary in order to experience success in experiencing eternal life? In the book of Matthew He says, “blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs in the kingdom of heaven.” Being poor in spirit speaks of one whom recognizes they are not able to obtain heaven due to his/her own efforts. The Bible goes on to share how a person goes about experiencing eternal life in the book of Ephesians, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
