We are entering the time of year when people are thinking a lot about gardening. Considering what they need to do to get ready for the season to come. Did you know it was in a garden, the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was considering what was to come in relation to the unfathomable hardship He was about to face on the cross. Do you know what would have been on the forefront of His mind? It was the fact that He would become sin for us in order to provide a way that we could get right with God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 reads, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Recently CTV news shared an article noting how Ontario’s top doctor issued a warning to public health units saying they should prepare for more cases and “potential outbreaks” of measles. It was noted in the article how measles is probably the most transferrable infection on the planet. Did you know the Bible identifies something humanity has been infected with that has a 100 percent infection rate? In the Bible in the book of Romans it reads, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned”. Thankfully, the Bible tells of a cure made possible through Jesus Christ.

Just recently Apple put out a post addressing what not to do if your phone gets exposed to too much water. What the company said not to do is put your phone in rice to dry it out. Doing so is a misconception and can do more harm than good. Did you know there is a common misconception when it comes to getting right with God. It goes with the idea of being, quote, “a good person”. The bible actually teaches against this by declaring in the book of Romans that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It also say in that same book that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How much coffee do you drink a day? CTV news put out an article recently sharing concerns a person should have about possible coffee intoxication. The article noted that while everyone’s tolerance is different there is a limit to how much coffee a person can have in their system. A maximum for the average adult should be four or five cups a day. Did you know the Bible speaks about something that followers of Jesus Christ can never have too much of? Jesus words are shared in the book of Matthew in which He says, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

There is a wedding happening in India this summer in which the son of one of the richest men in the world is getting married. The 1200 guest includes Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Ivanka Trump. The rich and famous from around the world are invited. There is an awesome invitation that God has extended and it is not limited to the rich and famous but it includes everyone. It is found in the book of John in chapter 3 verse 16 which reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The invitation is given the question is how are you going to respond?

Fox news reported recently that according to various health experts there are six power foods that can help prevent cancer. The six foods are pomegranates, sprouts, green vegetables, tomatoes, green tea, and nuts. The foods on this list as well as other health practices are wise to include to seek to avoid this life threatening disease. Did you know the bible warns us to address something more deadly than cancer which is sin. Romans 6:23 warns us about this but also presents the solution. It reads, “ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Have you ever lost your wallet and were on a search to find it? A lady from Tofino B.C. recently found her wallet after having lost it while paddling in the water just off of the beach. She then spent the next eight months searching the area where it was lost only to eventually find it fully intact with her license and all of her cash and cards. The wallet was plugged full of sand but everything was still there. It was a diligent search but it was successful. Did you know the Bible mentions that God is on a search? 2 Chronicles 16:9 reads, For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

According to a recent study of ninety-five scientific reviews that looked at more than ninety-five other scientific reviews encompassing 128,000 participants it was found that physical activity can be 1.5 times more effective in some cases than counseling or medication in tackling depression. Something the Bible directs a person to exercise is their focus when dealing with anxiety. In the book of Philippians it reads, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Did you know there is a great show to watch every year in April? In order to see it you just have to look up to the sky. The annual Lyrid meteor shower brings an end to the meteor drought that occurs each year between January and mid- April. The Lyrid meteor shower offers 10 -15 meteors per hour at its peak on a moonless night. The best time to watch this April is during the evenings of the 22nd and 23rd. It is interesting because in the Bible we are told that there is a lesson to learn every time we look up and are amazed at what we see in the sky. CNBC travel put out an article noting that it costs about $1850 a day to visit the ten most expensive destinations in the world. What makes these destinations so expensive primarily has to do with the cost of accommodations averaging $1000 a night. It is quite an expense to experience traveling to any of the top ten destinations. Did you know that the Bible shares about a destination that no financial price could ever be attached to? In the book of 1 Corinthians it reads, “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
