Some of the benefits of oatmeal are: it can decrease cholesterol and blood sugar; it can boost your immune system; it can help with digestion; it is nutrient dese. Eating oatmeal may help you live longer. Did you know the Bible addresses not simply living longer but living eternally with God. In the book of John it reads, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It is a tactic where the volume or weight of a product is reduced but not the price of the product. There is more and more of a push by consumers to get companies to be clear about what a person is getting. Recently in Australia an endangered flower bloomed with many watching at the Royal Botanical Gardens. The flower is called the corpse flower. This beautiful plant that blooms once a year for twenty four hours has been described as smelling like “rotten flesh, with notes of old fish and decayed cabbage”. In Jesus day He makes a comparison of something that appears to be beautiful but has a disgusting element to it. What Jesus describes is self-righteousness. In describing the self-righteous religious rulers of His day, He describes them as, “whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.” Not a picture you would want to emulate!

Recently a gentleman from Australia was concerned to witness six venomous red-bellied snakes slither into a mulch pile in his back yard. He called a snake catcher who came and bagged 102 pregnant and newborn snakes. Can you imagine how that man felt? The fear with a venomous snake is getting bit and having the venom inside of you. Did you know in a spiritual sense the Bible tells us we have all been bit by something and have venom inside of us. Romans 3:23 reads, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 tells us of the effects but thankfully a cure that has been made available, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

What is the best position to sleep in? Do you every question how you are positioned when you sleep? According to an article put out by the Sleep Foundation you should. During your sleep your body works to repair itself and the proper position acts as an aid in this process. Apparently sleeping on your stomach is the worst position while sleeping on your side or back is more beneficial. Did you know the Bible has something to say, not about sleep but rest. In the book of Matthew, Jesus says, Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Are you trying to lose weight? Maybe you should try drink sparkling water? Fox News recently shared details from a report by BMJ Nutrition, Prevention and Health that suggest drinking carbonated water may support weight loss by enhancing glucose uptake and metabolism in red blood cells increasing the feeling of fullness. Drinking carbonated water apparently helps a person feel full. Did you know Jesus shared about water that does not simply have physical benefits but has infinite spiritual benefits. This water is in reference to the Holy Spirit. He said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

There has been a lot of debate recently about a painting that was bought at a garage sale back in 2016. The debate is whether or not it was originally painted by Van Gogh. It has generated a lot of interest and it is estimated, if it is determined it is the real deal, the painting could sell for as much as 15 million at an auction. Did you know spiritually a lot of people question if Jesus is the real deal. People question if He is the means to get right with God. It is interesting because we have the words of Jesus and in His own words, He presents His case and He does not leave any room for doubt. In book of John chapter fourteen verse six Jesus is recorded saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

According to research walking backwards can be good for your brain and physical health. The practice of walking backwards for health reasons is thought to have originated in ancient China. There are reports from ancient China of people walking not only hundreds but in some cases thousands of miles backwards. Apparently walking backwards has received attention from researchers from the United States as a way of improving sports performance. Did you know the Bible has insight for followers of Jesus Christ in relation to ones walk that seems out of the norm but it is in reference to a spiritual nature. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reads, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Are you careful when you transfer money online? A gentleman from Ontario was shocked to find out that when intending to put money towards his son’s education he mistakenly transferred $5000 into the account of a stranger. Thankfully the bank eventually got things straightened out and returned the funds to the sender. Did you know the Bible teaches of an account transfer that is available through faith in Christ that we will want to get right? Second Corinthians 5:21 reads, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Through faith in Jesus resulting in a changed life a person receives, before God, the righteousness of Jesus upon their lives.
