Citizenship November 30, 2017

Jackie Scott has had to wait many years to be officially accepted by the country in which she grew up. Now in her seventies, Scott was born in Britain and raised in Ontario, the daughter of a Canadian serviceman and a British woman. But because she was born before her parents were married, and her mother was not a Canadian citizen, Jackie was denied citizenship in the country she loves. In 2004, when she applied for a passport, she discovered to her surprise that she wasn’t a Canadian because she had been born out of wedlock. Thankfully, God does not discriminate against us that way. Regardless of our race, or what our parents may have done, when we sincerely seek entrance into God’s family, we are “accepted in the beloved.” With Christ in our lives we can say, “our citizenship is in heaven…
