Asked on a television show what the difference is between kissing your sweetheart and your mother, one amused contestant responded, “About fifteen minutes.” But Vincent Torro, 34, and Louise Heath 26 claim the record for the world’s longest kiss ever: 96 hours and 32 minutes. If true, it is still not the world’s greatest kiss. The Psalmist wrote, “lovingkindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other,” describing Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins. There the reality of our spiritual depravity and God’s love met. Our fallen sinful nature was made up for when Christ became our substitute. No doubt Vincent Torro and Louise Heath felt the effects of their long kiss. But the world will forever be affected by the kiss of God. Have you allowed it to affect your life?
