Frequently people are told that personal information about them, held by the government or the media, has gone missing. People are notified of the privacy breach and what steps should be taken. Understandably, many are very upset. We all value our privacy and try to protect it. Many have secrets which, if revealed, would be embarrassing. The reality is that there is really no such thing as privacy. There is One from whom it is impossible to keep secrets. Our Maker is all knowing. The Psalmist wrote, “He knows the secrets of the heart.” The writer of the book of Hebrews in the New Testament wrote, “all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” That can be scary. But if we have made peace with God and Christ is in our lives, we have nothing to fear. Is Christ in my life? In yours?
