French gendarmes say workers paid to demolish an uninhabited house in Brittany made an unexpected discovery in the cellar–600 gold coins. They were Belgian, dated 1870 and bore the image of King Leopold the Second. That was an unexpected treasure. But there is another more valuable treasure that we cannot afford to miss. It is the Bible. Often it lies unnoticed and unread in our homes. Solomon, in the book of Proverbs wrote, “…if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you…and search for her as hidden treasure, then you will find the knowledge of God. The prophet Isaiah urged, “seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near…He will have mercy…He will abundantly pardon.” Every one of us needs to seek that treasure.
