An injured eagle has been rescued by Melissa Peter Paul. She found the bird unable to fly because of injuries to the wing. Melissa took the bird to the Atlantic Veterinary College Wildlife Services in Charlottetown. After expert care, the bird was released and is now “flying free.” At times, we too can find ourselves feeling helpless, unable to go on, because of the death of a loved one, dysfunction of our family, or a financial disaster. How wonderful to know that there is expert help available! God can heal the brokenhearted, forgive the repentant and empower us so that like that eagle, we are able to “fly free” again. Jesus promises, “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
