High levels of Radon have been found in areas of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. It is a colourless, highly radioactive gas that cannot be seen, tasted or smelled. Long exposure to it can increase chances of lung cancer. It’s unpleasant, so we don’t talk about. The Bible warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” A lack of knowledge of Radon can be very dangerous. And there is another lack of knowledge regarding a subject many try to ignore… that which the Bible calls sin. We read, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Like Radon, sin is often ignored and not dealt with. We call it “mistakes” or “shortcomings.” If we do not deal with Radon, we could lose our lives. If we refuse to face our fallen sinful nature we will lose our souls. But if we turn to God, the Bible promises, “ Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and those whose sins are covered.”
