Oscar Wilde’s Reminder November 21, 2018

“No man is rich enough to buy back his past.” Those are the words of the famous Oscar Wilde. He was correct. Guilt for past wrong-doing refuses to be dismissed. We may call it mistakes or mis-steps; God calls it sin. The Bible clearly states that there is “none righteous, no not one.” and that “all have sinned.” King David of Israel fell into wrong-doing. But fortunately, he came to his senses and prayed a prayer that all of us should pray, “create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” He was forgiven, his guilt was removed. And that is what the Heavenly Father offers us all. John, in his letter explained, “If we confess our sins, (God) is faithful and just to …cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
