A 2500-year-old Egyptian mummy is taken out of his casket in Massachusetts regularly for cleaning and restoration. But clean or not, that mummy is still a dead man. He has no life. But Jesus came to give us life, even after death. He came, the Bible says, “That we might have life, and have it more abundantly.” He did so by paying our sin debt when He became our substitute dying on the Cross. There He proclaimed victory over death when He arose from the dead. Before we come to Christ, we have “no hope and (are) without God in the world.” But when we accept Christ as our Saviour, the Scriptures tell us, “And you He has made alive who were dead…in sin…and now have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” That is the greatest news flash we will ever hear.
