Oscar Wilde, the Irish playwright, novelist, essayist and poet, once wrote, “No man is rich enough to buy back his past.” He was correct. Someone has written, “The past is gone—forget it. The present is here—live it. The future is before us—prepare for it.” But we can’t forget our past, since it impacts our present. While we live in the present, we must realize that its time to prepare for the future. Since “There is none righteous, no not one”, we cannot “buy back our past”. Thankfully God intervened and bought back our past. Paul explained to the Christians of His day, “And you, who were dead in your trespasses …God made alive… canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its …demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross.”
