“People are like stained glass windows; they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is only revealed if there is light from within.” That interesting observation was made by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross in her book, To Live and to Die. Light within can only come from the Lord Jesus Christ. John, referring to our Lord, wrote, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness.” Jesus Himself affirmed this truth, explaining how each one of us can have that light within, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” Following Jesus comes by acknowledging our spiritual darkness and asking God for forgiveness. Then we have His light within.
