Brighid is her real name. She was married last month in Western Canada. When still a young girl, her mother died. Her father remarried, but then he too passed away. The stepmother moved away. Brighid and her sister were alone. Then something wonderful happened. The parents of one of Brighid’s high school friends took her into their home as another daughter. Brighid’s story reminds us of what God wants to do for us all. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” separating us from our Maker. But something wonderful happened. 2,000 years ago “Christ died for our sins” at Calvary. John’s gospel explains, “As many as received Him, (Jesus) to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name.”
