The season of yard sales is about to come upon us. The idiom, “out with the old and in with the new” will be a reality for a number of vendors soon, as they get rid of what is not of value to them and use the money to invest into some that is. Something new! It is interesting, on a spiritual level, when a person receives the forgiveness of sin that God offers through Jesus Christ and enters into a personal relationship with God he/she experiences the idiom, “out with the old and in with the new”. This includes a person’s affections toward God, one’s lifestyle, everything! In the bible, in 2 Corinthians 5:17 it reads, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
