If you were to look up synonyms for the word ponder you would find such words as meditate, contemplate, muse, reflect. It can be something that we all struggle to do with all of the distractions that are around us. Sometimes we need to be told to stop and consider what is really important and the direction we are headed in life. In the Bible, in the book of Haggai it reads, “thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” The bible also gives direction on where to find real satisfaction. Jesus shares this in the book of John, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
