An article was put out by CNN noting how scientists have determined the ideal amount of sleep in middle and old age. Apparently, both insufficient and excessive sleep has been associated with a reduced ability to pay attention, remember and learn new things. According to the the study, the ideal number of hours for most people to sleep each night is seven hours. Did you know Jesus shared about the ideal form of rest that is available but it does not have to do with sleep? In the book of Matthew it reads, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

A few years ago an elderly lady from France was selling her home and as the auctioneer was assessing the worth of her items it eventually was determined that she had a painting hanging in her kitchen that was worth a great deal of money. The painting ended up being part of a medieval series that was thought to no longer be in existence. The painting sold at an auction for 26.3 million dollars. God has made something of infinite worth available to everyone of us that we need to recognize. Timing is important in so many aspects of life and according to a new study put out by the journal, Nature Communications, there is an ideal time to work out. According to this study, while exercise at any point of the day reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, the best time of day to benefit from physical exercise appears to be the afternoon. Did you know the bible sets out the ideal time in relation to something that is infinitely more important than exercise? It has a timing in relation to experiencing salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2 reads, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

A study was published recently that suggested that 14.5 percent of the global population has Lyme disease or has been infected by Lyme disease. The study suggested the rate of infection is on the increase. Did you know there is a spiritual infection that has a one hundred percent infection rate? In the Bible in the book of Romans it reads, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned”. Thankfully, the Bible tells of a cure made possible through Jesus Christ. In an article published by CNN entitled, “Sleep starts: Why your body “hiccups” as you fall asleep”, it is noted that nearly 70 percent of the population experience a twitching, jerking that can hinder a person from falling asleep. A scientist from the article noted, “It is not a good thing but health wise it presents nothing to worry about”. Did you know there is a wake up call in the Bible to Christians whom are not living as they should? This disturbance in sleep is truly beneficial! Romans 13:11 reads, “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”

Last month CTV shared about a scientific review that looked at more than ninety-five other scientific reviews encompassing 128,000 participants and found physical activity to be 1.5 times more effective in some cases than counseling or medication in tackling depression. Something the Bible directs a person to exercise when dealing with anxiety among other things reads,, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Recently 1.2 million dollars was paid for a football jersey at an auction. It was originally Joe Montana’s jersey which he wore during two of his four Superbowl victories. To the person whom paid over a million dollars this jersey was a real treasure. Did you know in the Bible Jesus shares a story of a man who found a treasure in a field and then went and sold all that he had to buy the field so he could have the treasure. The kingdom of heaven is of infinite worth beyond what we can fully comprehend but we can possess it. Jesus also shared the way into the kingdom. He said in John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.

Last month Canadian twins were named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most premature twins, born at 22 weeks or 126 days early. This definitely makes for a unique birth. Did you know the Bible teaches of a spiritual birth that we all have to have in order to experience heaven? Last month Japan used advanced surveying technology and discovered it has 7000 more islands than it originally had documented. The last survey was conducted in 1987 by Japan’s Coast Guard. It is quite a thing to phantom a country coming to realize it has 7000 more islands than it originally thought. The results of the survey definitely exceeded their expectations.
