“I guess if the world ends, I’ll be the last to know,” quipped Brent Morris, one of the people who failed to receive the alert from Canada’s new National Alert System. When perfected, the system will be used to warn people of natural disasters, Amber alerts and more. Alerts are everywhere it seems, warning us about troubles ahead. God also, has given us many alerts in His Word, such as, “Prepare to meet your God,” “The wages of sin is death,” and “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” Although these “alerts” or warnings have been available for thousands of years, many do not heed them. How important not only to hear God’s alerts, but to act on them. They are there so that when we stand before our Maker, we will have Christ in our lives and be ready for the next life.
