“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.” Those words were spoken in 1957 in a sermon by Dr. Martin Luther King. He spoke a truth that is confirmed in the Bible, God’s Word. Darkness cannot exist where there is light. John, in his gospel, said, “This is the message we declare to you. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” He also stated, “Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.” However, thankfully, our Lord said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.” If our lives are very dark because we have lost our way, we can turn to the One who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Please give this serious consideration today.
