To Confess or not June 15, 2018

A 56-year-old man wrote to a columnist asking for advice. Should he confess that he stole from a close family member 30 years ago to pay for a drug habit? Alcoholics Anonymous, has a 12-step program for recovering alcoholics. One step is to make amends to the people you have hurt. Some of those hurting people will remain angry and unable to forgive. But it is still important to sincerely apologize for wrong-doing. I am glad that the One whom all of us have hurt by our unbelief and actions, never turns His back on us. When we come to Jesus, with sincere and humble hearts, admit our wrong-doing, He opens wide His arms and forgives. How do I know? God promises to do so in the Bible, and I am one of the forgiven. Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
