A while ago, Dean Ravenhill of Cornwall PEI and a friend were sharing memories of the best gifts they had ever received. Dean remembered that as a teen he often looked longingly at a motorcycle that was for sale by a neighbour. But he could only look, because he did not have the money. Then one day, his father surprised him by buying that very motorcycle for him. He was thrilled, because up to that time it was the best gift he had ever received. Later in life Dean recognized his need for forgiveness and a home in heaven. He learned of a better gift when he read in the Bible, “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “ Dean gladly accepted that gift. It was again from his Father, but this time from his heavenly Father. And like the first gift of the motorcycle, it was free, paid for by someone else, Jesus Christ on the cross. Please consider that today.
